post your examples here

Take ownership of this project. Its an opportunity to showcase your creative, conceptual, and technical ability as well as develop a nice project you may add to your portfolio, publish to the web and submit for recognition.

Reading (quiz Mon. 4.4)

[“Hypertext, Hypermedia and Literary Studies: The State of the Art”, Landow, Delany]

Content (due Mon. 4.4)

The overall success of your project will have a lot to do with the content you choose, so choose wisely as we will not have time to change selections after the due date. Select a poem, short story, or song lyrics. You may choose from the books provided, any relevant sources you find, or it could be an original written by you. Research. Choose something that interest and excites you—you should want to work with this content; enhancing and expressing its emotion, message, and meaning. We will be reconfiguring the text—creating 5 or more separate pages; so keep this in mind when selecting your work.

Interpretation

read, study, and research your selected work taking note of how you may begin to represent it visually and interactively.

5 Concept statements (due Wed. 4.6)

Keep these very broad; they do not have to say anything about the potential visual presentation of the final design. You should be able to describe in one sentence what the concept of your project is. For example, if you had chosen the lyrics “its been awhile” by Staind; a concept statement may be “Inner strength and perseverance conquer hardships.”

Visual Interpretation

Approach the graphical representation as you would any other project. We will focus on technical web specific issues after. Represent the content [story, idea, philosophy] visually. Your visual interpretation should not be literal and should present the expression, meaning, message, idea, ect... of your content. Use your skills as a graphic designer/visual communicator.
